Flight of the Amazon Queen was released in 1995 by Interactive Binary Illusion and was probably targeted at the same audience that
the 1992 Lucas Arts game Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis appealed to (Deep Silver tried the same with
Lost Horizon
and did it better btw). Sadly the game is not quite as good as the original but is fun to play anyways.
It plays quite fluently, up until you reach the temple on Sloth Island, close to the end of the game. There you have to use one item at the one end of the temple
to get another item that you need at the other end of the temple. And there you open up a new room in which you find a new item that opens up a door on the
other end of the temple, well, you get the idea and will know what I mean once you are there. But Flight of the Amazon Queen is still worth a try, otherwise I
wouldn't have written the following walkthrough. And on top of that the
game is free nowadays, you can download it from the ScummVM website (the same
applies to
Beneath a Steel Sky)...
