You can't find out about these costumes by solving riddles or doing something else within the game. These codes were sent to various video game magazines all over the world so that they have something to print.

Douglas' Extra Costume

To get Douglas' new costume you have to complete the game once and after that do the following:

- While on the startmenu put your selection bar on Extra New Game.

- Enter the Konami Code fast. The Konami Code is: Drücke schnell den Konami Code, welcher da wäre: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, O, X

- Now chose your action and riddle level

- If done right you can hear Heather moan and Douglas wears his new costume whenever he appears.

SECRET WEAPONS

These are not featured here but in the extra chapter about special weapons in Silent Hill 3.

DIFFERENT ENDINGS

Like with every Silent Hill game Silent Hill 3 also has different Endings you can reach. But this time it is not that difficult as with Silent Hill 2.
Here are the different Endings listed and afterwards a short but good explanation what to do to reach it: (containing NO SPOILERS!)

The Normal End
The Obsessed End
The Revenge End

The Normal End

This and only this end is what you get in every case the first time you complete the game.
If you want to see it on a second playthrough take care of the following:

- complete the game and kill less than 100 enemies while doing this.
- Try to get hit by the enemies as little as possible.
- Don't say something to the person wanting forgiveness in the chapel.

If you have less than 4000 Points in the end you will get this end. What the points are about you can read in the next chapter.

The Possessed End

For the possessed end in Silent Hill 3 you need at least 4000 points at the end of your new game.
So what are the point awarded for?

Kill an enemy: 10 Points per killed enemy
so
100 enemies killed : 1000 Points
2000 hitpoints: 2000 points
Forgive the person in the chapel: 1000 Points

So kill at least 100 monsters (or more!) and get hit by them all the time so that you get lots of hitpoints. Then it should work out with the 4000 Points.

The Revenge End

Some also like to call this ending the UFO Ending as it involves some extra terrestials...
To get the revenge end in Silent Hill 3 you have to kill at least 30 monsters with the Heather Beams before reaching Heather's Appartement (Daisy Villa Appartement).
If you killed 30 or more enemies the game ends here and you get this rather strange end.

EXTENDED SCENES

If you have a completed Savefile from Silent Hill 2 on your Memory Card while playing Silent Hill 3 you can see some extended scenes.

• On the toilet in the alternative shopping mall
  Check out the open stall in the toilet and Heather will try at first but then quit and then ask who does something like this. James in Silent Hill 2 found an important item in a messy toiled bowl.
• Letterboxes at the Apartements
  Examine the letterboxes before Heathers Appartement and she will notice nothing in it. Not even a letter from a dead wife. James in Silent Hill 2 got a letter from his dead wife Mary.
• Posters at the stage in the Heaven's Night Nachtclub
  Before entering the Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill to find out more about Leonard you can enter the night club. You will get reminded to Maria from Silent Hill 2 that seems to earn something in new ways now. There is also a leaflet on one of the tables straight out of SH2.
• The fence on the roof of the hospital
  If you inspect the fence Heather says something about James that was pushed through here.

OTHER UNLOCKABLES

Beginner Action Level
To unlock the Beginner Action Level you just have to die three times on easy action mode. The game will tell you once you unlocked this mode. You can switch to this mode in game while on easy or normal action.
If you play on Beginner Action Level you will miss 15 Stars at the end rating.

Extra New Game
Complete the game once and you unlocked the option Extra New Game in the main menu.
This is the basis for all other unlockables like special weapons and so, you don't want to count the beginner action mode as a real unlockable, do you?
The Extra New Game doesn't start in the Amusement Park of Silent Hill anymore, it starts right in the shopping center. Heather doesn't have to start every day with a nightmare.
And the underpass after exiting the subway trains is all bloody in an extra new game and will drain your health on hard and extreme action levels.

Extreme Action Levels
Once you complete the game in Hard Action Mode you unlock Extrem 1 Action Level. Once you complete this you unlock Extreme Action Level 2 and so on. This continues up to Extreme Action Level X, which is Extreme 10. There it gets really hard (and interesting).
If you beat Extreme X you get a new costume for it. There isn't something written on it like I did beat Silent Hill 3 in Action Level Extreme X and all I got is this lousy T-Shirt, but this is a close call. Have fun!
In the different Extreme Modes all Items are in the same locations as on hard.

Health Bar
After completing the game on the hard action level you unlock your health bar.
2 additional bars are now there to show you your health (yellow bar) and stamina (green bar). And now there is also a small purple bar that only appears when enemies grab onto you to show you how long the grab will still last. Use the shoulder buttons and the directional control to get rid of the enemies faster.

STARS

After you finish your playthrough of Silent Hill 3 you are told how well you did within the game. Everything you did is measured in stars and you are rated. So, you want to rank 10 big stars on your Silent Hill 3 end rating? Juts keep reading on.
