Online Friendlies
From the manual:
Online Friendlies
Invite a friend to play a match online, and track your rivalry to prove who has the most skills on the pitch in five game seasons. Earn the most points in five games to hoist the trophy, and then keep the competition going with the next season as you try to defend your title!
Clicking in here will show you your friends list and their online status. If they are online you can start or continue a season with them. The seasons are 5-games long, but can finish earlier (e.g. one of you wins the first three games meaning the other player can't win the season through the remaining two games as they could only gain a maximum of 6 points so the season ends).

If your friends aren't online you can view your stats against them. It will show your current season, the title holder, the number of wins, and the all-time W-D-L records.
