Terminator 2: The Arcade Game covered

Terminator 2: The Arcade Game is finally covered, thanks to subsane. It's the third guide he contributes to the SMS completion project. This boosts the project to a 97.95% coverage rate.

Dynamite Duke covered

thanks to DelFuegoStyle we have a complete guide for Dynamite Duke up now. It seems like DelFuegoStyle is not that involved with the SMS FAQ COMPLETION PROJECT but it's his 5th complete SMS guide for the time this project is running. Keep on writing!

Predator 2 covered

Thanks to subsane we now have a complete guide up for Predator 2. This means we have completed the project by 97.07%.
And as prolific as he is, he already claimed the next game he wants to finish. And fitting enough it's Terminator 2, this time you fight against a pixely Arnie!

So if YOU want to have a say in the final statistics go claim a game now and write a guide before subsane writes them all!

Author Removes Guides

We have just noticed that one of our more prolific authors have removed all of their guides. This author, who shall remain nameless, had 15 guides for the SMS Completion Project at the time that he removed them. Please check out the list in the link below and see if you fancy claiming any of them.

There are only 14 games on the list because another author had written a guide for one of the games and another game was cross-linked, removing the need for someone else to write for 2 of the guides that was removed.

Janggun-ui Adeul added to the database

Almost 2 years after the project was declared complete odino (who else...) added another SMS game to the GameFAQs database, so you can also find it here, waiting to be covered...
Of course this is another obscure korean only release again, but sooner or later we'll get this done.
Thanks to Tim TheMightyRoast for even noticing that the game was added!

Game Covered for another System has a Guide for SMS Version

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants, a game that was only covered through a guide created for a version on another system, has been completed by SubSane.

Yeah, I know it is not part of the project and most people don't care about these games getting a guide specific for the SMS version, but this is just an update for the few that do.

All Games COVERED!!!!

Yes, you read that right. Every game listed on GameFAQs' database now has a complete guide. The final guides written for the project was Cyborg Z and Doksuri 5 Hyeongjae, both by IceQueenZer0.

However, the final game to get a guide was Wonsiin, but it was a cross-link from a NES game.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this project, whether you offered moral support, wrote a few guides or supplied information to help the project.

Lots of new guides and even less to go

Keyblade999 found his way through Gaegujangi Kkachi and also went out of his way and wrote a guide for the SMS version of Dinobasher, even though there was a guide for the NES version already available. Of course we appreciate this extra effort!
And he also cleared F-1 Spirit: The Way To Formula-1 from the list.

While IceQueenZer0 wrote a FAQ for Snail Maze, the game that is hardcoded on the SMS hardware and already had a nice picture FAQ on the hardware site, but someone decided it needs a game page of its own on GameFAQs, so we figured it also needs a complete written FAQ, as we cover everything...

Also Daffy Duck in Hollywood was cleared by TheMightyRoast with his 17th guide for this completion project.

And last but not least subsane wrote his first guide for the project, and it is for RoboCop Versus The Terminator.

Now there are only 3 games left. Unless odino finds some more obscure Korean only games he adds to the GameFAQs database. And 2 of the 3 games left are already claimed by IceQueenZer0, which means the guides are both already 99% finished ;)

So when will the last guide be submitted? Will the sun finally shine once it's done? And who will have to honor to finish off the SMS?

Just out of nowhere Keyblade999 completed a guide for Ferias Frustradas do Pica Pau and pushed the letter F to only one game left.

Did you know that every letter that has games left has no more than 2 games left (until odino strikes again that is...)
And overall we are only missing 10 guides until all SMS games on GameFAQs have a complete guide.

More guides were submitted and accepted during this last week, that are:

KeyBlade999 eliminated Desert Speedtrap, Rygar and Time Soldiers, while TheMightyRoast covered Running Battle and IceQueenZer0 covered Tensai Bakabon.

And while 3 more games are crossed from the list odino did it again and added some more obscure korean SMS games to the GameFAQs database.
But besides that, all North American releases are completed with the guide for Time Soldiers.

January Update

With 21 submitted and accepted guides January 2013 is the most successful month in the history of the SMS FAQ completion project.
And with only 13 games uncovered left it will be pretty hard to beat this record once more. But reaching 100% coverage of all the SMS games listed on GameFAQs is even better!

So what games were covered since the last newspost here:

IceQueenZer0 covered no less than 4 games in the few day, that are:
Dynamite Headdy, San Goku Shi III, Street Master & Super Kick-Off.

KeyBlade999 covered 2 game, namely Xenon 2 & Earthworm Jim.

edwithgames cleared Black Belt as did TheMightyRoast with Champions of Europe.

Also in February the Game Box Serie Esportes Compilation was crossed from the list already with the Great Volleyball guide by Glacoras.

This now means that we have reached over 75% of all games listed on GameFAQs, unless there has been some other game added, or a crosslink/guide removed again.

More games for the Project

Just to update people as to what games have just been discovered hiding in the GameFAQs database:

George Foreman's KO Boxing - No longer linked with James 'Buster' Douglas Knockout Boxing, but a cross-link should be more than enough to have a guide on this site.

Digger Chan - New game that was apparently released in 2011. Hoping that other new releases do not appear for the SMS.

The New Zealand Story - Guide must have been removed, as the total games for this letter did not change.

Due to these changes, we now no longer have 75% of all SMS games listed on GameFAQs as complete (well, we didn't anyway, but we though we did). We require 1 more guide to reach that goal again.

2 Games Cleared off our List Today

Jungon has swung and climbed his way through 11 Stages to clear Spiderman's name in Spiderman.

TheMightyRoast has gathered the required intelligence to help save the world for James Bond: The Duel. With this game complete, every letter now have at least 50% of all their games with a complete guide.

We now only need 4 more guides completed to reach a total of more than 75% of all SMS games covered. The only letter that requires 4 games to be completed is the letter "B".

TheMightyRoast has also created a guide for Tecmo World Cup '92.

Super Space Invaders has a complete guide now

aaaaaand again phantastic Joni Philips did the job and saved us all from evil invaders from space.

And the sad part of this newsentry is: He claims this is his last guide for this project. But who knows what the future will bring. Maybe the FAQing itch comes back, and a small SMS guide is always a good alternative to a full Final Fantasy guide... or maybe we should just bully him online until he retires from retirement ;)

So long and thanks for all the guides =)

There are only 98 unFAQ'd games left for the Sega Master System, so hurry up before Joni completes them all and let's make 2011 even better than 2010 =)

Project Reaches 1st Anniversary

Yes, this project has been running for an entire year. During this year, we have managed to produce 49 complete guides for the SMS games, cross-link several other guides to their SMS counter-parts, remove a cross-link that did not properly cover the SMS version of the game and persuade SB to change the status of another guide to complete.

We must thank everyone that has contributed something to this project in the past year. Whether it is 1 or more guides towards this project, some helpful criticism for a project writer, key information about a SMS game or just support for the project. Without all of you, this project would not have been as successful as it has been over the past year.

Let us hope that this project will be just as successful next year.
