Games, that's the game I was looking for! I actually had in the pile of my old SMS/Genesis game. I tried playing the game, but forgot that you need the Light Gun for it. I use to play Gangster Town all the time when I was little. Looking at the screenshots that you posted actually confirmed that this was the game I was looking for. Now, off to find that light gun...

The SMS version of Alien 3 plays similarly (though not exactly the same as) Alien 3 on SNES, but the levels are different. It's worth writing one exclusively for the SMS. It's a fun game; I may try to tackle it soon if I don't get too busy. (Don't take that as "I'm claiming it" though - if someone else wants to write for it, they should.)

I'm gonna try and persevere with playing Mick & Mack: Global Gladiators a little longer, but man, it's absolutely nothing like I remember it to be (i.e. I find it truly terrible).

Hey selmiak, there are some games in Games' list that don't appear in GameFAQ's, so I didn't put them in the list, since I can't without the ID. There are also some games that were released in AU, so I didn't add those either.

when adding games there is already the option to add them as cancelled/Prototype games (under Release). Do you think this should rather be found under FAQ-Type or is it okay under the release type?

@Mike: There will be an option for registered users to add themselfes for the games, but not yet. Maybe tomorrow (halloween party ahead =))

@Mike: If you are not enjoying the game, don't feel as if you need to write a guide for it. I would prefer people to enjoy themselves writing a guide instead of forcing themselves to complete the game/guide because of this project.

@selmiak: I would prefer a Protoype/Cancelled game to be considered a guide status than a release region. Taking a PS2 game as an example, He-Man: Defender of GreySkull has a EU release and a NA Cancelled. As the EU version has been released, it should be considered an EU release, not a EU/NA-Cancelled release. This also allows adapting the form to show that there can be a guide for this game (or, more of a chance of a guide). ---Continued aim at selmiak on the next paragraph---

Please may you fix the problem with Ecco: The Tides of Time submission on your site. I can not add the game as it is already in your database. Only you have the ability to change anything for that guide now, as it does not appear anywhere on the site.

Yo Selmiak, I thought of something that may be lacking the site. We could add at the top of the incomplete list a legend for what the symbols mean, if it has a Skeleton FAQ, an In-depth one, etc.

@Games: I've always been one of those "roar, I'ma stick wit it" kinda people when it comes to doing stuff, but I'll gladly make an exception this time. I'll drop Mick & Mack: Global Gladiators in a favour of Dynamite Duke (because it's an awesome game).

OK, I've updated the website to include [most of] the "G" and "S" games that are not covered. I would like to know if you want any game beginning with "The" to be listed under "T" or how I have them laid out on my site?

Also, I have tried to edit entry 50 [Ecco: The Tides of Time] in your database and it does not allow that entry to be changed. This means that only you [selmiak] can alter this entry to add it to the "Complete" section of your website. I do hope this is a small problem that will not affect the rest of the entries, but I would recommend that you remove the option to allow people to choose where the game is added to the database.

My site has them listed as option B (along with the stats in the stats page of my site).



Also, I was not expecting anything done today. I do know some people (not including me here, atm) have other things to do and choose to relax on Sunday.

R.C. Grand Prix submitted. Forgot how much of a pain it is creating the track maps, a couple need more work, but they are close enough. Might fix them one day.

Not sure what I will move onto next, will have a look in a couple of weeks. Considering Chuck Rock, a fairly short platformer, but if someone else wants to write for it in the mean time, go for it.

As GameFAQs has all the games listed as "The Flash" and not "Flash, the" I'd say we should list them the same to avoid confusion.

The Ecco thing is fixed now.

OK, there seems to be a problem with any game completed by oblivion from aoc on your site. His name (including spaces) is 17 characters long. I do not know how the databases vary, but there seems to be some problem with any game being completed by that username.

I have tested it on a couple of different games, as well as changing the claim of the Ecco game to Games [This "Games" change worked without stretching the page]. That should also explain why his claim for the game started today as well.

Loving the improvements in the site selmiak! Another problem I found, is that when you try to edit a game you claimed (when you try to change the % of your progress), it says that you already have 3 games claimed even though I only have Dracula's game as claimed.

hey vinheim, it's great that your that damned fast with FAQing. =) This bug happens because you already have 3 other games combined with your name. The script doesn't know they are already complete... yet. This should be an easy fix but now we have 2 options. Either leave it with 3 claimed games at a time or just give up on this restriction. But giving it up could be problematic if some trolls decide to have fun with the page. Who knows what will happen in the future... as you are the only one with 3 completed guides already this is not that urgent, so let's see what you think about this.
and english is my second language, if some of the texts are hard to read or strangely worded just tell me, do the same if you find other bugs. Maybe, after finally getting the statistics up I will make the texts editable too.

maybe a small animated gif of sonic could be nice, if someone has one... just post it!

Typo on the imcomplete page (listet should be listed), but seems good. I will try signing up when I submit the next guide I guess.

Just checked the two sites, one has 161 listed as needing a guide, the other has 164. Any idea which games are not listed on selmiak's site?

No animated gif's here, but should be easy enough to find one.

Maybe we could give up on that restriction, and since only registered members can claim a guide, we could make a requirement that they need to enter their CRP, and this may lower trolls. And I like the Sonic GIFs idea. Here are some sites I found:

Ringworm, I know 1 of the games not listed on that site is a cancelled game (begins with D on my list). I would need to go through both lists to figure out what games needs to be added.

My site needs to be updated. Must've forgot to change the number. However, my site also accounts for Marksman Shooting & Trap Shooting/Safari Hunt, which has not been added to selmiak's site.

The reason why i have not added it is because it is hard to figure out how to list it. It is a Compliation game where ½ the Compliation has been completed. Would that be listed as "Complete", "Incomplete" or "In-Depth"? I doubt "Complete" as it is not complete.

@Games: I think it's better to keep this compilation out of the list too. Once both games are covered this thing is covered too. There is no need to add it afterwards too as... well, who cares, both games are covered then... and thanks for adding the last game =)

Yeah selmiak! The issues I had are working now! Let me write some more guides and I'll let you know if I find anything else.

Haven't wrote anything at all because I have a cold and feel pretty weak >_>. But once I get better, I'll write my ass off, just you wait and see!

Gotta say, that new "Admin Confirmation" link whenever a user claims to have completed a guide on the front page is a really good feature. Saves on quite a bit of work.

I'm just wondering, you add any sort of stats like my stats page? I will note that my stats page doe not include the 16 guides that are covered by another system in that table.

yeah, the confirmation was a pain in the ass to get it working, but it should save some time and keep trolls out and help us avoid having to remove games that were claimed as complete but were rejected by SBAllen.

For the stats, go to your adminpage and check the values there. I think it better to be able to change the values if there are more games added to GameFAQs. If you have the time please double check the values I entered, may dunno if everything is correct ;)
The stats on the statspage will then depend on these values...

Your stats considers that there are 437 games on GameFAQs (mainly due to this site listing each type of game in each regional title (if applicable)).

Anyway, I have listed all the The <Game> titles in my stats page as Game, The, where possible. You may want to think of doing it the other way around, or change the The <Game> to the way I listed mine to make the stats gathering easier.

the stats page is done and counts correct =)

All the minor stats on top are heavily borrowed from the NES CP, if you want more just post it, I can't think of any more useful stats atm.

Actually, GF lists the games as "The Flash" but it's placed alphabetically with the F games and not the T games.

games, what browser are you using? I have a feeling it's internet explorer.... this damned M$ piece of crap won't under stand #fff as white, only #ffffff, every other browser understands this... well, now even the iE should display it like every other browser ;)

I am about 1/3 through my Populous guide and have decided against trying to find out what the final level is. However, I have got enough information to provide a pretty accurate estimate of when the last passcode provided will work (I am missing 2 passcodes between my last working passcode and my first non-working passcode).

Probably will not do any more guides for this project after Populous is completed until I clear my backlog so it is below 2 digits.

fixed that too...

so I guess "Marksman Shooting & Trap Shooting" and "Marksman Shooting / Trap Shooting / Safari Hunt" are counted on GF as one game.

They're counted as 2 games, but the longer titled game is a compliation of Safari Hunt and the shorter titled game.

Does anyone have a light gun and copy of this game? Would be a good one to get off the list as it gets rid of two games. Guessing it is one that is playable without the gun, but is nearly impossible.

Should be able to get playing again in the next few days, good to see the progress so far.
