I uploaded a guide for Flash Point, that old Korean classic that you've all heard of (particularly Odino). If it gets accepted there'll be 50 to go I believe.

Or 48 to go maybe. Someone needs to update the site so that people can work this out easier.

Oh my childhood comes back into memory...oh wait, not! I just added these games because they exist, guys, rather do it correctly than wait for someone to add it badly (which happened with the NES Sachen stuff).

I don't consider "owing" guides because I added those, but I'll try to contribute something once in a while ;)

Updated the site. Haven't done a news item yet (will wait until today's queue is finished). Unsure how to mark Xenon 2 on the site, so just had it claimed.

Thanks. Can you update my Flash Point contribution so that is it listed against TheMightyRoast rather than tim_roast.

Thanks.

Every contribution would be much appreciated, especially if you can knock out that Japanese game you mentioned previously.

I saw your PM, yeah I'll look into it but I think it's not hard to play without Japanese knowledge anyway. I mean, Bakabon means "idiot kid" so what do you expect :)

Good thing about the Korean games, they are often also on the MSX and that's easier to...ahem....play.

Anyone? I gave up on Xenon 2 - can't get it to force me past Level 2 - so I want to know if anyone else wants it. I'm cancelling my claim on it now.

Again, if anyone wants that Xenon 2 FAQ, it's theirs. I'm probably not gonna touch that for a LONG time.

Jfyi, if you sign up to the page you can handle lots of the update stuff yourself and thus make it even faster. That's what the useraccounts on the page are for ;)

@Keyblade: Why, oh why does your xenon2 guide have to be in formatted format... =(
I'm already on the lookout for what to do next once I finish Bubble Bobble (probably/hopefully even before the world ends in a few days), so I'm a little little bit interested in finishing it, but it being a formatted guide and the required images in it to keep the quality consistent and the fact that the game is a shmup are some huge letdowns for me... probably not...

I don't mind if you take out the images or formatting. Do what you want with it - the images were in place to save me from needless descriptions of enemies. It was originally a text FAQ to begin with and, here, you just to realign the characters to the 80-character limit, remove some of the blatant formatting, and add some headers I guess. About two hours work, if that.

Of course, two of these are Japanese, so we may or may not see these same claims cancelled soon ... can't exactly check right now.

Just want to point out that some screenshots of Xenon 2 have been accepted. Due to me mentioning that, here are the current games that require a screenshot (if you play or cover them, can you upload a screenshot for them?)

Cyborg Z
Flash Point
Penguin Adventure
Street Master

Additionally, the games below are missing 1 or more box shots for a specific release of the game (this means that, while there may be a box shot for the game, a specific release still requires a box shot):

94 Super World Cup Soccer
Aerial Assault
Alien Syndrome
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
Cyborg Z
F-1 Spirit - The way to Formula-1
Fantasy Zone
Fantasy Zone: The Maze
Golden Axe Warrior
Kenseiden
Psychic World
The Dinosaur Dooley
Wonder Kid
Ys: The Vanished Omens

Added covers for 94 Super World Cup Soccer, Cyborg Z and a better one for Satellite 7. Have submitted screenshots for Flash Point but these are still in the queue. Couldn't find a box shot for F-1 Spirit - The way to Formula-1 anywhere.

Eagles 5 / Doksuri 5 Hyeongjae is a game released for the SMS by Zemina in 1990. Going to try and get this game added to the site (don't worry, I already own a copy [but not claiming it as I haven't played it yet]).

Penguin Adventure is the same as the MSX version. If you write for one, you should be able to cross-link to the other.

Looking around, there may be some more unknown games for this console. It was very popular in Brazil and Korea, so I would expect to see some more games appear on this site for this console before we have finished.

That list is incomplete. It doesn't include for example 94 Super World Cup Soccer and Street Master for example.

Best place to go is to www.smspower.org in my opinion as they are dedicated to SMS, although some of the Korean games are rip-offs of other games due to relaxed copyright laws they used to have.

Surely all the games left now have less than 200 levels?

Trouble is both those FAQs were written over 10 years ago, plus they were the only ones that the authors wrote (on the GameFAQs website).

I dug into the data for Xenon 2 - the PC version anyways, which is somewhat similar, but not enough for an FAQ - and it seems to contain five stages, two of which are complete on my FAQ. So, yeah...

*shoves FAQ your way*

Doesn't matter anymore. I found the emulator Meka, which lets my Korean ROM work. Writing for one version and checking via the other if it is correct.

So by mid-January we should have covered seven more games. We should reach 150 covered games by this project by the end of January. Considering we covered 77 in the first project, that would make for a total of 227 of 345 games covered by the FAQ CP. That is not too bad.

Would be less than that. The Incredible Hulk was classed as part of the original 77 guides, but was seriously incomplete and was removed during this project. I also think that some of the remaining 76 guides were removed before the project was restarted and other people covered them before the restart.

Still, over 200 guides because of both durations of this project is a good number. Don't think the number of removed guides was more than 10, IIRC.

EDIT: Should have mentioned that the above example was then covered by someone during this project after the removal of the original, 1-level-covered-only guide.

I decided to claim Home Alone. Seems simple enough, but haven't finished it yet, big problem is the "hidden" items in later levels, but should be able to get through those levels with trial and error.

First claim for the year, probably won't be the first completed FAQ (won't get much time to play until the weekend).
